New Student Information

2024-25 Student Assignments Released April 12, 2024

SPS released the new student assignments to all schools on Friday, April 12. At that time, Lincoln sent a version of the following welcome email to our incoming students with specific course registration information for current SPS 8th grade students and non-SPS students and students coming from other SPS high schools. Look for an email coming from lincolncounseling@seattleschools.org.

If you receive a school assignment that you did not expect, please contact enrollment services, not Lincoln staff. Only enrollment services can correct or change enrollment assignments.

The following information is a combination of the emails that were sent out to the various student groups (SPS 8th, non-SPS, and students coming from other SPS high schools). It also applicable for any students assigned to Lincoln after April 12.

Lincoln Staff Extends a Warm Welcome to New Lynx!

You are receiving this email because your student has been assigned to Lincoln High School for the 2024-2025 school year.  This first step in your high school journey will be to register for courses.  Please read the full email and watch the video before doing any registration.

We look forward to building a strong partnership for success with our new Lynx students and their families. If you have not already done so, please visit the Information for Prospective Lynx webpage on the Lincoln website to find helpful information.

Not Attending? Let Us Know

If your plans change and you will NOT be attending Lincoln, please let us know.  A parent/guardian should send written notice to  lincolncounseling@seattleschools.org please include student’s full name AND the school they will be attending instead of Lincoln.  Dropping your enrollment helps us with staffing adjustments and may open a seat for students on the waitlist for Lincoln.  Please also complete this form to notify the district that you will not be accepting your assignment to Lincoln (link should be active by Monday, April 15).

Course Registration

Watch the following PowerPoint presentation with important course registration information as well as graduation requirements, course registration and more.  Please also look at the Course Catalog on the Lincoln website for course descriptions, prerequisites and other information that will help you make thoughtful course selections. This will prepare you to complete course registration successfully.

Registration is NOT on a first come, first placed basis so you do not need to register right away. Please take time to review all the provided materials and make reflective choices. All course selections for all students will be processed at the same time after registration closes.

Starting April 26, 2024 ALL Incoming students will register for courses using a Course Selection Form (use following link).  You will NOT be able to complete online registration through the Source.  The Form is always open.

Lincoln Athletics Registration Open for Fall 2024 in Early May

The FinalForms portal to register for Lincoln athletics for the Fall will open in early May.  This is our only registration tool and is required for ALL new or returning student-athletes participating in a WIAA sport at Lincoln.  This includes signing up for Lincoln summer activities and all sports seasons during the 2024-2025 school year (fall, winter and spring).  Sign-up for any sport, but please note that student-athletes are limited to only one sport per season, per WIAA rules.

This restriction, however, does not apply to summer participation.  Student-athletes will need an updated physical (within the last two years on the SPS form) and must be cleared by the athletic director before they are able to participate in any school sanctioned practice or competition.  Summer athletics begin as early as May 31st so make sure you are aware of the summer schedule for each sport you plan to participate in during the school year.

Registration information and links to FinalForms can be found on the Lincoln Athletics Registration webpage.

Do not hesitate to reach out to our coaches (contact information on the Lincoln Athletics webpage) or the athletic director, Brent Brakke, at bwbrakke@seattleschools.org.
