K-12 Dual Language Immersion Program Pathways

Seattle Public Schools is committed to offering a K-12 Dual Language Immersion (DLI) pathway for Spanish, Japanese, and Mandarin DLI students. A student entering a DLI program within an International School at the elementary level would be able to continue in that DLI program into the middle school and high school pathways, guaranteed (if they select that school). Non-DLI students, with the right amount of language proficiency, may be able to join the DLI pathway in the upper elementary grades, or at the middle or high school level.

Northwest DLI Pathway – Spanish & Japanese

Grades 9-12:
Lincoln High School 
Grades 9-11 for 2020-2021
Grades 9-12 for 2021-2022

Grades 6-8:
Hamilton International Middle School

Grades K-5:
John Stanford International Elementary School 
McDonald International Elementary School

Southeast DLI Pathway – Spanish & Mandarin

Grade 9-10:
Rainier Beach High School* (approved by the School Board in the Student Assignment Transition Plan 1/23/2019)

Grades 6-8:
Mercer International Middle School

Grades K-5:
Beacon Hill International Elementary School 
Dearborn Park International Elementary School
