Dear families and students,

Thank you to everyone who was able to show up at the Parks Commissioner meeting on July 23rd. For those who were not able to make it, Seattle Public Schools recommended a full-size field at N. 50th St. & Aurora Ave. N., plus a track renovation at Lower Woodland Field #7., to the Seattle Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners — asking approval to move into environmental review. We had a good showing for the first meeting and we need to get even more at the next meeting. The Parks and Recreation Commissioners is scheduled to vote on this recommendation at Miller Community Center on Thursday, August 13th, 6pm-8pm at 330 19th Ave E, Seattle, WA 98112. We will send out additional information and updates.

We need to continue to show our support!

1. Please mark your calendar to attend the meeting on August 13th – wear your Lincoln gear. We want to pack the room with the Lincoln community!
2. Email the Parks contacts below. We want them to hear from as many people in the Lincoln community as possible. We are not asking you to weigh in on site or design specifics, SPS has already made that determination. What we’re asking is that you help us make sure the following priorities are part of what moves forward into environmental review:
   
   

• A full-size field (not a reduced or single-sport version)
• Dedicated storage facilities
• Lighting and infrastructure: the infrastructure needed for the field to actually function for games and practices

A short, personal email is more effective than a form letter. Feel free to mention that you’re a Lincoln (or Hamilton) parent, and simply ask that the Board approve moving the project into environmental review with these elements included.
