Curtis Reed

Reed, Curtis

Business Teacher, DECA Advisor

cgreed@seattleschools.org

Hey, it's Mr. Reed, your business teacher!

I am always excited to help students explore the world of business and how it fits into a wider world. In addition to being a teacher I've also owned several businesses. Currently I own a mobile bike shop! My previous teaching experience includes many wonderful years teaching IB 20th Century History at Rainier Beach HS where I was also the golf and bowling coach. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my wonderful wife and my two children (I have a son and a daughter). We enjoy camping, traveling, and of course riding our bikes! You will probably see me either riding up to school on my bike or in my truck that seems to never die (jinx!). I grew up in Utah and hence have an addiction to endless torment by supporting the Utah Jazz.

I’m very excited to join the Lincoln staff as an IEP teacher for the upcoming school year! I was born and raised in Central California, earned my BA in History of Public Policy at UC Santa Barbara, and then lived in NYC for three years before completing my teaching certificate and MA in Curriculum and Instruction at Cal State Bakersfield. My wife and I moved to Seattle in 2021 and love being up here. When I’m not at work, I like to take a walk, catch up on music and podcasts, or catch a live show in the area. Can’t wait to get started at Lincoln!

ELA Teacher

I am excited to join the Lincoln team as part of the Language Arts department. I have spent time teaching ELA in both high school and middle school and it brings me so much joy to help foster a love of reading and writing within my students!

I love playing and watching soccer, and I was able to travel to France in 2019 to watch the Women’s National team win the World Cup! I grew up in Southern WA, so my team is the Portland Thorns, even now as a resident of Seattle, I cannot root for the OL Reign when they play the Thorns. However, I can support them against any other team!

I am honored and excited to be joining Lincoln High School! Although I was born and raised in Chicago, my family has made Seattle our home.  I have been in education for the past 15 years serving as a paraeducator, teacher, interventionist at both middle and high school levels.  Most recently I served as a Dean of Students in the Highline Public School District.

My educational journey in the PNW began as a special education teacher in the Bellevue School District.  As I continued my growth in education it led me to the University of Washington and receiving my masters in Educational Leadership.  From there I spent 3 years in the Highline School District as a dean of students. I am thrilled to be here at Lincoln High and I am dedicated to creating a learning community that is accessible and empowering for every student.  My hopes that all Lincoln students feel seen, heard, and loved throughout their journey at LHS and beyond! Go Lynx!

I love spending time with my wife and two kids, all things football (BOTH the Chicago Bears and Seahawks), and have a love for comic books. I look forward to meeting and working with the Lincoln High community!
