Associated Student Body (ASB)

Lincoln Associated Student Body

Lincoln High School will be governed by our Associated Student Body (ASB). The ASB is made up of both elected and appointed school-wide and class officers. Each class will be represented by a council of students who will be selected in the fall.

Student representatives of the ASB are responsible for:

planning school-wide and class events, assemblies, and after school activities
building positive school culture and improvements
fundraising
managing the ASB budget
acting as a representative to building administration

ASB Cards

We encourage all students to purchase an Associate Student Body (ASB) card. ASB card sales are our primary fundraiser each year to provide funding and support for all our extracurricular activities: clubs, athletics, after-school activities, etc. Students who purchase an ASB card will be eligible for various discounts throughout the year. Students who participate in any WIAA athletics or are active members in any clubs are required to purchase an ASB card. Scholarships are available to students to cover a partial or full cost of the ASB card.

Associated Student Body (ASB) Funds

Required per RCW 28A.325.050

An Associated Student Body (ASB) is a formal organization of students, including sub-component or affiliated student groups, formed at each public school within Seattle Schools. The programs of the ASB are any optional, noncredit, extra-curricular activity conducted in whole or in part by or on behalf of an ASB, during or outside regular school hours, within or outside school grounds and facilities and conducted with the approval of the school district or under the official designee to whom authority has been delegated to act on behalf of an ASB or sub-component group. ASB programs and activities must be of a cultural, athletic, recreational or social nature benefitting the ASB.

Money generated or collected, including fundraising proceeds, in conjunction with ASB activities, is public money which must be deposited into the ASB Fund. ASB public money may only be used for optional, noncredit, extra-curricular events and activities of a cultural, athletic, recreational, or social nature.
