Lincoln Scholarship Information

The following are a few scholarships that may be of interest to Lincoln seniors from local scholarships to national scholarships. This webpage is updated periodically. For more scholarship resources students can visit the Counseling page on Schoology and look in the Scholarships folder.

Lincoln Alumni Association Scholarship

The Lincoln Alumni Association awards scholarships each year to qualifying Lynx students. Applications are now open for this year’s Class of 2024. Go to the Lincoln Lynx Alumni Association scholarship page to learn more about this scholarship and get ready to apply. Applications are due April 15, 2024.


Ballard Elks Scholarship

Each year the Ballard Elks Lodge awards three local girls and three local boys $1,000.00 each to be used towards college tuition. Students should select “Ballard Elks” during the application process. Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks.  Applicants may also advance and be considered for additional state and National Elks scholarships. 

This scholarship is available to high school seniors and the deadline is November 13th, 2023. You can find more information, and students can apply online using the button below.

2024 Stim Bullitt Civic Courage Scholarship

The Seattle Public Library Foundation’s Stim Bullitt Civic Courage Scholarship is open to young scholars who live, work, or attend school in Seattle. Submissions are now being accepted through March 15, 2024.

1st Place: $5,000 scholarship
2nd Place: Two $2,500 scholarships

Historically the applicant pool for this competition is relatively small.  With three awards available, the chances of winning are high!

We encourage you to reach out to your local public librarian for any questions regarding library services for their students. Homework Help (in-person) and tutor.com (virtual) are two resources your students can use to support their writing skills! I can also help connect you with your branch’s Teen Librarian who can help with research skills.

In addition to the scholarship prize and exposure to bestselling authors, the winning essays will be added to the permanent collection in the Hugh and Jane Ferguson Seattle Room at The Seattle Public Library.


UW NASA Space Grant

Space Grant offers $5000 scholarships to incoming first-year students planning to study science, technology, engineering, or mathematics at the University of Washington. 

Space Grant aims to create a stronger STEM workforce by removing barriers and creating accessible pathways for students with skills such as multilingualism, multicultural perspectives, and unique work and life experiences.

Key Details: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and Washington State resident
  • Priority Deadline: March 4, 2024 @12pm
  • Application accepted on a rolling basis until April 1, 2024 @12pm

Black Women in STEM Scholarship

BestColleges is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for our inaugural scholarship opportunity for Black Women in STEM.

This scholarship is part of BestColleges’ ongoing commitment to providing information and resources for all learners, regardless of identity.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to participate in the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a Black woman who is pursuing a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) degree at a four-year college or university
  • Provide one letter of recommendation
  • Write a 500-word essay that describes their interests and motivations for pursuing a career in STEM

Kelly Foundation of Washington Scholarship

The Bold Foundation

The Bold Foundation has 5 new Washington State scholarships available for Lincoln High School students totaling $20K in award funds. Bold Foundation has many scholarship opportunities that you can check out here.

Following are the new scholarships available:

Carol S. Comeau Environmental Scholarship

  • Amount: $6,000 (4 winners, $1,500 each)
  • Application deadline: Apr 1, 2024
  • Eligibility: Any high school senior at a public high school in Washington who is planning on attending college or a trade school to pursue environmental studies may apply for this scholarship. 

Joanne Pransky Celebration of Women in Robotics

  • Amount: $3,000
  • Eligibility: Any female-identifying high school or two or four-year undergraduate student who is interested in working in robotics may apply for this scholarship.
  • Application Deadline: Feb 29, 2024

Cat Zingano Overcoming Loss Scholarship

  • Amount: $10,000
  • Eligibility: Any student who is fighting through their own loss of a close family member, legal guardian or loved one, and is in need of financial support for their education as they move forward.
  • Application Deadline: Jul 20, 2024

Scholarships for SPS Students

Scholarships are a type of grant (monetary gift you do not have to pay back) for students to use in paying for after high school training and college programs. Scholarships are available for students as early as elementary school and continue through graduate school.

Federal and State programs provide over 46 billion dollars in student aid. Private companies, community organizations, civic groups, foundations, and religious organizations provide an additional 3 billion dollars in scholarships.

A scholarship database can be found in Naviance (all SPS 6th-12th grade students have 24/7 access to Naviance)as well as some of the following resources. You should never pay for access to scholarships you find online.

04/19/2024 – Seattle Association of Educational Office Professionals (SAEOP) Scholarship

Seattle Association of Educational Office Professionals (SAEOP) Scholarship. This year we are proud to continue the tradition of awarding one (1) One thousand-dollar ($1000) scholarship and (2) Five hundred-dollar scholarships. We are seeking all interested and qualified Seattle Public High School graduating senior students (class of 2024) who wish to continue their education at a 2-year, 4-year college or vocational school. Please keep in mind throughout the application process that this is not a need-based scholarship.

The deadline for returning applications is Friday, April 19, 2024.

SAEOP Scholarship Information and Application

05/10/2024 – The Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation

The Maxwell Foundation provide financial resources to student leaders from Washington state. To recognize high academic achievement, The Foundation offers financial aid of up to $5000 per year for freshmen starting a four-year program at a private university or college. The award is based on students academic records, the submission of a personal essay, and a summary of extracurricular activities. The scholarship is renewable each year for a total of up to $20,000 over a four year period. Between 10 and 30 scholarships will be awarded.
