9th Grade Ela Visits

Counselors have been going around to all 9th grade ELA classes to help students be better prepared for their steps after high schools. They have been covering topics like college visits, Naviance, graduation credit requirements. Preparing for life after Lincoln is not an easy topic and will start approaching rapidly. Counselors are here to help students navigate all these different avenues!

Juniors

Planning for college can be a daunting and stressful situation. Counselors are here to help you all navigate that; we are hosting an Almost Senior Meeting on June 7th at 6:30 in the Auditorium. This will cover topics like: applying for colleges, common app, graduation requirements, FAFSA/WASFA and other college related topics. In the meantime, students were shown how to use the Super Match tool in Naviance. This tool helps students view and compare colleges and universities. There are also several tools available on our counseling page on the Lincoln website (see resources below).

Summer Skills

Recently information was sent out about the Summer Skills Center and what it offers. This is a great opportunity for students who plan on working in a certain trade to het a head start on the knowledge or that trade. If this is something that your student might be interested in, spaces are filling up fast.

College Timeline

There are several mandated tasks needed in order to successfully apply for college. The counseling department has put together a timeline for students to follow along to see when tasks should be thought about and when deadlines are for most colleges and universities. This list will have everything that students will need to get done year by year in order to be on the correct path for their high school and beyond plan.

Tutoring

The next and final Saturday School is Saturday June 3, 2023, 9am-Noon. There are several teachers from each department that are available to help students catch up on work or just provide a place for students to do homework in school setting. BASH (Before and After School Help) is a tutoring service offered after school on Mondays 3:45-4:45 and before schools on Thursdays 7:45am-8:45am.
