Running Start
Running Start is a program for Juniors and Seniors to take college level courses and earn dual credit towards their HS Diploma and Associates Degree. Counselors are fine tuning the process and will be revealing those details in an email on March 22nd to all current 10th and 11th graders and their families. If your student is interested in this program be on the lookout for this email!
Juniors
Planning for college can be a daunting and stressful situation. Counselors are here to help you all navigate that; we are planning a Junior night in May. This will cover topics like: applying for colleges, common app, graduation requirements, FAFSA/WASFA and other college related topics. In the meantime, students were shown how to use the Super Match tool in Naviance. This tool helps students view and compare colleges and universities. There are also several tools available on our counseling page on the Lincoln website (see resources below).
WA State History and PE Competency
Seniors, in order to meet your graduation requirements you need to pass both WA State History and PE Competency tests. WA State History is an exam covering various topics about Washington and its geographical history. This will take place 3/23 8:00 am in the Library. PE Competency is a 20-question exam covering the basics of physical education and health. This exam will take place during BASH 4/3 3:40 pm and 4/6 8:00 am.
Tutoring
The next Saturday School on Saturday April 1, 2023, 9am-Noon. There are several teachers from each department that are available to help students catch up on work or just provide a place for students to do homework in school setting. BASH (Before and After School Help) is a tutoring service offered after school on Mondays 3:45-4:45 and before schools on Thursdays 7:45am-8:45am.
Senior Scholarships
It is time to start thinking about funding your future education. FAFSA, is a financial assistance program to help students afford their education. Also, there are plenty of scholarship opportunities available and we encourage you all to look at scholarships offered by your preferred school. There is a scholarship available for all students!
