    Surprise Visit by Governor Inslee
    Posted on 09/10/2019
Governor Inslee with Principal MedskerGovernor Jay Inslee made a surprise visit to Lincoln High School on Tuesday, September 10th for a tour of the new building.  Governor Inslee toured all the key features of the building from the Commons, to the Library to the FabLab (makerspace).
He is not unfamiliar with Lincoln as his mother, Adele Brown was a Lincoln graduate in 1946.  In fact, Governor Inslee left his mom's Lincoln ID card to add to the artifacts you can find in the alumni room!
He met and interacted with students throughout his tour of the building.  He shared a story with Ms. Ware's health class about his first time as an Ingraham Varsity basketball player guarding a Lincoln phenom player.  His job was to keep the phenom from scoring.  He said he was very successful holding the player to only 36 points.  Clearly he has fond memories of Lincoln High School.
Governor Inslee was impressed with the work the students and staff were engaged in doing and the plans that Principal Medsker and staff have for future work based on the U.N. Sustainable Development Global Goals and the Stanford Design Thinking Model.
Lincoln staff and students were proud to show their new school to Governor Inslee and hope to see him at a future Lincoln basketball game!
