    Good afternoon Lincoln Families,

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! We hope you and your family enjoy the extended weekend and take a moment to honor those who served our nation and are no longer with us. When we return on Tuesday, there will be three weeks left of school, please take time to check in with your student to monitor progress and set plans for any classes they need extra support. If your student is still working on any incompletes from first semester, please be working with them and the assigning teacher to have that complete prior to the last day of school.

    Textbook and Supply Return – 6/7 & 6/14 (Cohort C)

Do you have textbooks or library books to return from 2020 or 2021? Not sure what’s checked out to you? Watch this short video from Ms. Scott to see how to check your account. https://vimeo.com/555966383
We need to collect books that you’re finished with so that other students can use them. Still reading? Let Ms. Scott know so she can renew your books until next year. Please note that any “lost” fines from books that were not returned last year will be erased as soon as those books are returned to Lincoln.
Textbook and supply return for cohort C will be happening on 6/7 and 6/14. Departments will collect and check-in any textbooks and supplies from cohorts A and B during in-person time. Teachers will remind students what supplies need to be returned. We are asking students and families to support us in getting all our textbooks and supplies returned so that we have them available for next year. Please note, any unreturned or lost items will result in a school fine to be paid next year.

    SPS Laptop Return – 6/18 (Cohorts A, B, & C)

As we start to plan for the end of the school year, we want to give advance notice that SPS will be collecting and reimaging all student laptops in preparation for next school year. We will be collecting laptops on Friday 6/18 from all cohorts. Please plan on being available that day to return your school-issued laptop. We will publish additional information on this process. *Please note that any student who will be attending SPS summer school will keep their laptop and charger until the completion of summer school.

A Message for the families of the Class of 2024

Hello families of current 9th graders at LHS! As we wrap up this eventful school year we want to put out one last call of action. According to SPS (Seattle Public Schools), we will be in the building full time next year, and that means we will need more hands-on deck!
If you are interested in being involved in the planning and execution of events, fundraising and information for our Class of 2024, then you will not want to miss this End-of-the-Year meeting coming up June 3, 2021 - starting at 6:30 pm! Meet the Class of 2024 parent reps and connect with other parents!
It will take a village, and since our kiddos will only be the third class to graduate from LHS, we are still creating Lincoln traditions. There is no job too big or too small, and any level of expertise is welcome! The Zoom link is located below!
This is also the last chance to donate to the class of 2024 this year, and you can do so easily by texting Lynx2024 to 41444!
In addition, if you want to be alerted of any class of 2024 parent or family events, or important news, please follow us on FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/1249707408737132/

    Bell Schedule Change June 14th-18th

To meet the instructional minutes for in-person instruction required by OSPI (Office of Superintendent for Public Instruction) and the governor, there will be a schedule change in Seattle Public Schools the last week of school, June 14th-18th. We will be providing specific information on what that looks like at Lincoln, but for planning purposes we will have full days of classes Monday-Thursday, Friday will be a full day, but will honor the district’s tradition one hour early dismal. Our schedule will still follow the cohort model with cohorts coming in either the morning or afternoon. We will be sending that out soon so students and families know when students should be on campus.

A Message from SPS on COVID Safety

While public health agencies begin to loosen restrictions on COVID-19 safety precautions, this is a reminder that we must continue to adhere to our high levels of health and safety strategies while in SPS buildings, including wearing masks/face coverings, daily health screening, physical distancing, and hand hygiene.
CDC and DOH guidance recommend schools continue to follow the current COVID-19 prevention strategies for the remainder of the school year. Additionally, the agreement between SPS and SEA (Seattle Education Association) requires staff to adhere to safety precautions which includes wearing face coverings, daily health screening, physical distancing, and hand hygiene. This agreement is in place through the end of August.
We must all do our part to help protect our most vulnerable populations, including those who may not be vaccinated. We are excited to partner with the City of Seattle, the Seattle Fire Department, and Public Health – Seattle & King County to offer vaccine clinics for our students and their families across the district. Please see the list of clinic dates here: https://www.seattleschools.org/district/calendars/news/what_s_new/covid-19_vaccine
We ask for your continued partnership in reminding your student about the required proper mask-wearing, physical distancing, and handwashing while at school.
We are hopeful and excited for a full return to school in the fall and a decrease in community transmission of COVID-19 will help us get there.
Thank you for your continued dedication to the safety and wellbeing of our community.
